The soup of the day on this visit was a potato, cheddar and bacon soup topped with croutons and chives, part of the prix fixe. The Bear called it great soup: thick and creamy, with equal parts cheese and potato, enough bacon for flavour without overwhelming it, and croutons soft enough from soaking. He gave it 3.75 out of 5.
