Pumpkin Cake

Ordinary Adventures picked up this pumpkin mousse cake with whipped frosting and a chocolate stem at Plaza Inn, calling it beautiful - bright orange, with the stem making it look freshly cut from a pumpkin patch. The host admitted she usually avoids the grab-and-go desserts here for fear they sit out and dry, but said this was some of the moistest cake she has had in quite some time. She liked that the pumpkin is not overpowering, with a little pumpkin spice in the crumb and only a thin layer of frosting, and called it really good. Between the two Plaza Inn options she preferred the pumpkin crunch cake, and gave this one four out of five.

Mix In Some Magic's family rated the pumpkin cake 8, 6.2 and 7 out of 10. The host, who describes herself as obsessed with cake, calls it delicious and says she really does like it a lot — but given a straight choice between the two Plaza Inn slices she preferred the red velvet. The highest score came from the taster who liked this one better of the pair.
