Iced Chocolate Café

Ordinary Adventures tried this Halloween-season drink at Rancho del Zocalo - hot chocolate, espresso, cream and coconut served over ice. They noted theirs had been sitting out and seemed a little watered down, but still looked refreshing. On tasting, they found it not overly chocolatey, with the coconut clearly present and the coffee flavour easy to pick out. Their closest comparison was a melted Frappuccino, or the bottled Starbucks Frappuccinos from a convenience store, but less sweet. The host gave it four and a half out of five.

Lisaland found this one underwhelming. A blend of hot chocolate, espresso, cream and coconut served over ice, which she compares to a cold brew and says looked like a cookies-and-cream drink. It tasted, in her words, like chocolate milk: she could not taste the espresso that is supposed to be in it at all, and nothing else came through beyond a mild milk-chocolate flavor. Her bottom line was that it was fine, but nothing special.
