On their Disneyland cookie crawl, Ordinary Adventures both independently reached for this as number one, to their own surprise. They call the coconut macaroon wonderfully moist and a model of how the style should be done, with the white chocolate cap adding sweetness without overdoing it, and say the Halloween sprinkles take nothing away from a recipe that has been around for decades. Both argue it is underrated precisely because it is not new, and note it remains good value, only a few dollars more than it cost a decade ago, and large enough to share between two people. It was later edged off the top spot by the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num.
Reviews
2 reviewsOrdinary Adventures gave the Halloween version of this Disneyland classic a five out of five, on the grounds that the original earns it. They call it perfect and very coconutty, and are candid that the Halloween treatment amounts to little more than seasonal sprinkles on the familiar coconut macaroon dipped in white chocolate. Their guidance follows from that: if you already like the standard Matterhorn Macaroon this is the same thing, and if you do not, this version will not change your mind.
