WrightDownMainStreet tried the new Eggplant Parmigiana at Tony's Town Square Restaurant ($32), asking for regular mozzarella instead of the menu's plant-based cheese. As a huge eggplant parm fan they called it absolutely fantastic: three thick slices cooked perfectly, not mushy, nicely salted and very crispy, with a slightly sweet, smooth tomato sauce and well-cooked spaghetti. They'd have liked a bit more cheese and an extra slice for the price, but rated it some of the best eggplant parm they've had in Orlando and one of the day's favourites.
Reviews
2 reviewsThe new plant-based Eggplant Parmigiana at Tony's Town Square replaces the Impossible Meatballs and comes with Tony's marinara, plant-based cheese and spaghetti. The Princess (vegan) said it is crispier than it looks and very delicious, though the tomato is a little light; she is not usually an eggplant person but would order it, called it an elevation on the menu and gave it 4.75 out of 5. The Bear praised the crusty breaded eggplant that does not go mushy, the seasoning and the cheese, said he would never have guessed it was plant-based, and gave it 4.5 out of 5 as a worthy replacement for the spaghetti and meatballs.
