The Disney Noob closed his 2026 best-value list with this Rancho del Zocalo salad, part of what he sees as a real turnaround for a location he once rated among the worst in the park. He was impressed by the build - about five large chunks of chicken, plenty of rice and beans, pico, and real guacamole made with actual avocados rather than an imitation - and liked that the lime-cilantro-avocado dressing comes on the side. He also praised the crispy tortilla bowl, which you can eat along with the rest, and remarked that the whole thing is as big as his face. His honest caveat: it is not the best salad in the park. But for the price it will fill you up, it is great to share, and he called it perfect for two people.

Ordinary Adventures called this return to Rancho del Zocalo a highlight. The host had ordered tostada salads here for years before they disappeared, and said he is so glad it is back, describing it as refreshing and crediting the lime-cilantro-avocado dressing in particular. His summary: take a burrito, open it up, add more lettuce and fry the tortilla, and this is what you get - five out of five. His co-host singled out the shell, saying he has never seen a more golden brown, glistening tostada shell, and praised the generous guacamole and the flavour of the chicken. Their complaints were that the bowl has shrunk from the taller version of years past and that the chicken arrives cold when they would rather have it hot.

Magic Journeys was glad to find this one back at Rancho del Zocalo. The updated version comes with cilantro-lime dressing, rice, beans, chicken, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream, and the host ranked it her second-favorite salad in the parks, behind only the one at Plaza Inn. The cilantro-lime dressing was the standout - she said Rancho should bottle it and sell it - and she liked the citrusy pico de gallo alongside the rice, beans and chicken. Her complaints were about the presentation: the tostada shell is now closer to a shallow plate than the taller bowl of years past, and the chicken arrives cold with no option to order it hot. Overall, she called it a really good salad.

Mr Cheezy Pop and Amy were glad to see the returning Chicken Tostada Salad back at Rancho del Zocalo, calling it delicious, 'perfectly seasoned' and 'a welcome addition back on the menu.' The chicken comes as a big sliced piece and is served cold - they flag that so you know going in, though it wasn't dry. The tostada shell is smaller and lighter than it used to be, which they were fine with, and they felt it could use a bit more lettuce.

A returning item Lisaland is glad to see back on the menu, and one she rates as one of the best salads at Disneyland. Chicken with pico de gallo, sour cream, rice and beans, cotija, guacamole and a lime-cilantro avocado dressing in a tostada shell. She notes the chicken is served chilled, which she did not mind, and praises the crisp lettuce, the heft the rice and beans add, and the light, yeasty flavor of the fried tostada shell itself. The dressing was a highlight — good enough that she wanted it on the nachos too. Slightly smaller than she remembered, but still a good portion.

Just Imagine called it a win and the host's go-to dish for as long as it is on the Halloween menu: soft, juicy chicken (served cool, which suits a salad), a flaky, crispy tostada shell, smooth beans and rice, and guacamole that tastes house-made. It is filling and big enough to share. The only suggestion was that it could use corn, so the host plans to add a side of the esquites next time.
