Making Magical Adventures rated the whole plate five out of five. The sandwich caught them off guard - the barbecue sauce has a tangy, faintly vinegary edge and more heat than they expected - but their verdict is that calling it flavourful is an understatement, packed into a small sandwich with toasty, crisp bread that holds up. The jalapeno slaw is genuinely spicy with a good crunch from the cabbage, and the potato bites round it out, though they suspect the portion has shrunk. They call the price genuinely worth it for the balance of sandwich, side and slaw, and say they would order it again during Halloween Time.

7 reviewsMix In Some Magic's family got to this one late — they were too busy eating it to remember to rate it — and landed on 6-to-7 and 6 out of 10. It arrives dressed as a monster, with olive eyes on skewers and a scary mouth, piled with jalapeño slaw. One taster thought it was good but not one of the top grilled cheeses he has had. The host agreed on a 6, noting it is not actually spicy but does carry a clear jalapeño flavour, which counted against it because she does not really love jalapeños. A third member of the family did not try it at all. Their overall read was that it was okay — just okay.
Mr Cheezy Pop came away from this one genuinely split. They liked the build — two halves stacked for the monster effect, crispy onions on top, and a grilled cheese they said was cooked really well and properly crispy — and rated the flavours as good overall: sweet and tangy, with creaminess from the cheese. The problem was the barbecue sauce, which they called far too much and overpowering for the rest of the sandwich; they noted that a bite carrying less sauce was clearly better, while allowing that some people will want it drenched. They found the portion very large, did not come close to finishing it, and said afterwards that it sat heavily. Asked whether they would order it again, the answer was not necessarily — they framed it as a fun, creative one-off for a passholder rather than a repeat order.
Ordinary Adventures gave this five out of five and both hosts raved. Pork belly and muenster on sourdough with crispy onions and jalapeno slaw, served with potato bites and presented as a monster with olive eyes. They found the pork belly juicy, the barbecue sauce sweet and tangy, and the sourdough nicely crisp, and noted they could not really taste the muenster itself, which suited a host who is not a big cheese fan. The slaw on the side runs slightly spicy. Their one comparative note was that it is not the best grilled cheese Pym has done, ranking a spicy Lunar New Year version above it.
Fresh Baked rated this Halloween-season sandwich four and a half out of five, giving it top marks for presentation and fun. They praised the buttery sourdough as grilled to exactly the right shade, neither burnt nor too light, and preferred the barbecue pork belly to the pulled pork or brisket most places use, calling it a fattier, saltier, more flavourful cut. The crispy onions and green onion add another note of flavour and texture, though they kept sliding off. Their reservation was that it eats one-note, the same bite over and over, and they did not expect to finish it. The barbecue sauce is very present, almost dominating, and only mildly spicy. At $16.79 with tots and jalapeno slaw they still called it decent value and possibly shareable.
Barbecue pork belly and muenster cheese on sourdough with crispy onions and jalapeño slaw, served with potato bites. She likes the tender pork belly, sweet-tangy barbecue sauce, melted muenster, and toasted, crispy sourdough. Adding the jalapeño slaw brings a refreshing crunch and acidity that cuts through the richness of the sandwich, plus a light, pleasant hint of spice. Her verdict: a genuinely good, well-balanced sandwich, and the potato bites are crispy and nicely seasoned alongside it.
Magic Journeys called this one to get if you're at Avengers Campus. Tender pork belly that isn't too fatty, sweet BBQ, a mild jack-like cheese and green onions on sourdough, served with potato bites. Piling the jalapeno slaw on top is what elevated it - it adds brightness and a real kick, which they put around 5.5 out of 10 on heat.
